“We’ve all done this before!”

Actually, no. I’ve never outright slammed an egg on the counter.

When life gives you hate, make haterade! Natasha Levinger and I channeled all our feelings about High School Musical, Twilight, and Hannah Montana into one amazing, musical stage spectacular! Guys, we wrote a musical! Holy shit!
Coming to the UCB Theater on November 5th & 19th at 8 p.m.! Reservations can be made by calling (323) 908-8702 or going here. Please come see our show if you live in the Los Angeles area!!!

If you don’t see this tonight then the terrorists win. And by “terrorists” I mean cast of Twilight sans Dakota Fanning (she’s trying to be a normal teenager you guys!)

Detroit Industry Frescoes Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo
As much as Detroit is synonymous with urban decay, I still wish to go to their art museum.  Pictured above is a shot of the “Rivera Court” at the Detroit Institute of the Arts, which is room painted on all sides with massive friezes dedicated to Detroit’s (former) industrial prowess.  Rivera was noted as declaring this set of friezes to be his finest work.

Any product of Michigan Public Schools will remember trips to the D.I.A. to see this.

I am going to Idaho with some friends over Thanksgiving. Never in my life have I ever needed a vacation this bad. In fact, I don’t think I have ever even considered a vacation to be at all necessary for my well-being. It makes me nervous to think that I am now a full-fledged adult with commitments and responsibilities and an overall lifestyle so very definitely the opposite of vacation.

I am running myself into the ground right now with rehearsals ( FOR MY UCB SHOW! COME SEE!), practices, internships, two jobs, marathon training, and writing. Don’t get me wrong, I am loving all of it. My problem is I can never pass up an opportunity, which has led to a ridiculously chaotic lifestyle, exhibited by the fact that the day I leave for Idaho, November 25th, will be my first day off since October 25th.

So as much as I love to be busy and go go go, this trip is important to my sanity. I don’t even know how to unwind anymore. If I am not going somewhere or doing something and find myself with free time on my hands, it freaks me out. Today at work I was flipping out because I wasn’t being productive enough. Shouldn’t the fact that I am working 3 to 10 on a Sunday be an act of productivity in itself?

Idaho.

I am going to read Ernest Hemingway (we are going to his grave), snowboard (we are in the mountains!), sit in an outdoor hot tub in the snow, eat, and sleep ten hours each night. I am going to take pictures and sing Christmas songs on our 16 hour road trip. I am going to leave the computer at home. I am going to have the cell phone off for 3 days. I am going to love it.
