I gave up on Heroes. I haven’t seen any of Season 4 and regret having sat through so much of Seasons 2 and 3.

But, when I saw on a commercial that my new crush Jayma Mays was coming back for an episode as Charlie, I decided to tune in one more time. Charlie’s arc with Hiro was one of my favorite parts of the first (and should have been the only) season.

Are you talking about V? If so, you mean JULIET. Secondly, I actually enjoyed it, and I think you are being a little too harsh too soon. Sure it was cheesy and uneven at times, but not all pilots are like Glee and Pushing Daisies. Some shows take a minute to find their footing. Hopefully this MASSIVE break they are taking in between the first four episodes and the rest of season 1 will help with some improvements (Like seeing less of Elizabeth Mitchell’s annoying son who went to the Katie Holmes School of Irritating-Beyond-Belief Joey Potter Half Smiles. Seriously. Was this kid a stroke victim or shot in the face like Mary Jo Buttafuoco?)

Just saying…what if people gave up on 30 Rock, Parks and Rec, and True Blood after their not-that-great pilots?

And if you WEREN’T talking about V. Nevermind. But now you know what I think!

I almost got hit by a car last week when I went out for a run. Like…I was almost full-on run the fuck down.

It happened like this.

The light turned green and I had a WALK signal. I looked both ways and behind me…you know…just to be cautious…and started to run across the street.

Some JACKFUCK coming in the opposite direction decided that he was going to hurry up and floor it to make a left turn before oncoming traffic had a chance to get through the light. He noticed me when he was about five feet and slammed on the breaks.

Obviously shaken by this and pretty pissed off, I made a face and a “what the fuck!” gesture. I didn’t even flick him off. I just raised my hands. And he just stared at me with a “whatever. get the fuck out of my way” look on his face. Despite the fact that he was illegally making a left turn. Despite the fact that I am a pedestrian. Despite the fact that I had a WALK signal. He’s just gonna play this cool and act like I’m not exactly twelve inches from his front bumper at this point. You motherfucker. Do you realize that if you had hit me, I would have OWNED you for the rest of your life? Positively fucking OWNED you. I’m not looking for an apology. I certainly don’t expect you to pull over and tell me you’re sorry profusely. I have 8 more miles to run and would like to get on my way. But…maybe you could at least acknowledge that you almost vehicularly manslaughtered me and…I dunno…not make it seem like I’m the one at fault?

You know…I’m growing to like LA. It took a while, but I’m warming to it. Getting out from behind an assistant’s desk in the industry sure helped. And getting involved at UCB has a TON to do with it. But Jesus H Christ this city has some of the shittiest people you will ever encounter. In. Your. Life.
